OV Doll is a sex doll reselling company based out of Japan that sells sex dolls of various varieties. As a trusted source of consumer information in the sex doll and sex robot industry we feel it is our duty to report on a few aspects of the OV Doll website that are very misleading to customers.
Also, we’d like to highlight the OV Doll affiliate program scam to protect sex doll affiliates from making the same mistake we did.
Is OV Doll Legit?
Disclaimer: we have never made a purchase from OV Doll but we have noticed glaring misinformation on their website that is very misleading to customers.
Example #1: They are describing their dolls as silicone, but they are actually made out of TPE.
This is the most blatant example of misleading information on their website and is unfair to customers. TPE and Silicone are very different materials. A customer wishing to purchase a silicone doll could potentially be mislead in to purchasing a TPE doll.
Silicone dolls are typically more expensive and more durable. TPE dolls are slightly cheaper, the material is softer which make it more lifelike, but also less durable. It is very important to be upfront with customers which type of doll they are receiving! The way you care for a silicone doll is much different than how you would care for a TPE Doll.
Example #2: They are selling dolls with the wrong information at suspicious prices.
This example is best demonstrated with a photo. Below you’ll see a screenshot of one of their products named Sasa. Review the information, I will breakdown all the lies below the screenshot.
In reality, the product photos are of a 140cm D-Cup WM Doll made of TPE. However, OV Doll is telling it’s website visitors that this is a 138cm doll (false) made of silicone (false).
In addition, is the price of the doll. To purchase this doll directly from the WM Doll factory at wholesale and reseller prices costs more than what they are selling the doll for, not to mention the WM Doll set MSRP price which is even higher. If OV Doll is selling legitimate and authentic sex dolls, how can the price be so low? If this is a real WM Doll, they would be losing money every time they sold her.
I can not say for sure as I haven’t purchased her, but it is possible this is a fake doll from a manufacturer other than WM Doll. My conclusion seems to be backed-up by similar claims by sex doll experts on dollforum.com.
Example #3: They don’t have a return or refund policy
The last troubling thing about OV Doll is that they have a no return or refund policy.
What if your doll is damaged during shipping? What if you doll is defective? What if you receive a doll that is not the same as the doll you ordered? What if you received a doll made of TPE instead of the Silicone doll you ordered?
The customer is out of luck.
I do understand that due to the nature of the products, a standard return or refund policy is not exactly possible, but many other sex doll websites offer at least some kind of refund policy for unsatisfied customers.
OV Doll Affiliate Program Scam
This last section is not for sex doll buyers, but for sex doll affiliates. OV Doll advertises an affiliate program on their website that people can sign up for. The agreement is if you refer a sale to OV Doll, they’ll pay you 8% commission on each sale.
Sound good right? 8% of a $1,000+ sex doll is a pretty good chunk of change.
Well, in reality, it is likely you’ll never receive payment from OV Doll.
Want proof? Here is an actual screenshot from the affiliate dashboard of an OV Doll affiliate:
As you can see, the affiliate has generated $1,228.32 is affiliate commissions, but they have never received a single cent of payout! At 8% per sale, this affiliate has generated over $15,354.00 in revenue for OV Doll and 18,013 site visitors, but they have not paid him at all.
In the image below, you can see repeated attempts to request a payout have been met with promises to pay but payment is never sent.
Conclusion
Based on all the above we find it very hard to recommend people purchase a sex doll from OV Doll. As we said, we have never purchased from them , but based on their website information and feedback from third-parties, it is likely you’ll receive a product that is not exactly as described on their website with no ability to return it or receive a refund.
You’re much better off going with a different sex doll seller website, there are quite a few legitimate options to choose from these days.
